In Mawby Township, doctoral student Kay Khine is conducting research on community forestry, and I accompanied her on this trip. Mawby Township is a suburban village located about an hour's drive from the major city of Yangon. As a result, there is significant external pressure for development on the surrounding land, including farmland, and it is characteristic that even community forestry is often managed on an individual basis.

We also found that some areas have adopted agroforestry to improve productivity. We look forward to seeing how Kay Khine will organize and analyze the results of his research.
