There are many things about global environmental problems that cannot be understood unless you see what is happening at the local level. To do this, you need to see, hear, and think about the field in your own eyes during fieldwork. No matter how "lofty" academic research or policy proposal research may be, the field is the starting point. My research subjects are natural resources such as forests and farmland. Even when I interview people in villages or observe forests and farmland, it is sometimes difficult to understand the meaning of the landscape. It is often difficult, but it is still fun because there are new discoveries and moments of "I get it!" I would like everyone to experience this kind of fieldwork.
